很多人在問為什麼POSReady 7在Windows Features dialog裡沒有選項可以選，而Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate卻可以。原因是POSReady 7是以Windows 7元件化所產生出，其組成不像是Windows 7那樣是一整包，而是透過元件組成的一個作業系統，所以可以從系統裡可以看到並不是以POSReady 7為其名稱，而是"Windows Embedded Standard 7"，所以如果裝好後如果不細分，可能會被認為是WES7的系統，會造成誤會。
也因為不是一整包的關係，所以"Turn Windows features on or off"選項裡並不會出現內容可以選擇，問了MS後因為是安全性的關係，所以把這樣的功能給關了。但關了不見得不能enable/disable選項，只是看不到而已，所以要新增某些選項為enable/disable，則還是得透過DISM /add-packag enable/disable，可以參考底下這篇http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh273229(v=winembedded.21).aspx看如何新增或移除。
至於有無文件可以說明是因為那些安全性而關閉了"Turn Windows features on or off"dialog？從MS那得到了非正式的一個說明如下，大家可以參考一下：
"POSReady 7 is the vertical operation system taht Microsoft design for retail industrial. To fit the requirement that industrial needs, we are basing the Windows 7 technology and put together with component technology. Based on this technology you can modify the OS image includes only thos components absolutely required by your customer and project need. That si the reason that you saw the dialog when you try to getting into "Turn Windows feature on or off". This is by design from Windows Embedded product group that for avoid end user getting into this area since they should following officially step to add/remove optional feture packages."
上述的內容雖不是正式，但也是一個憑證，可以證明PG team的design就是如此。如果真的要看到Windows features dialog內容，可透過3rd的工具查看，dismui。
